Star Collection

Adjacent to the Research Library is Western’s Costume Archive. We are preserving our costume heritage by safekeeping historically significant costumes from such films as “The Great Dictator” (1941), and “The Sound of Music” (1965). The more than 6000 pieces in the star collection span the history of film making with pieces from classic silent films, such as Rudolph Valentino’s robes from the film “Son of the Sheik” (1926), and academy award winners like “Some Like it Hot” (1959), and “The Artist” (2012).
